There are endless things to do in Costa Rica, and we can't wait to guide you through many of the incredible possibilities! It’s no secret that Costa Rica is a popular place to travel to and for good reason as its beauty is not exaggerated, and on our 11-day trip down the Pacific coast and up into the cloud forests you'll see it all firsthand! We road-trip through Costa Rica's famous Nicoya region, beginning in the north in Tamarindo to hit up some amazing surf breaks perfect for beginners and experts before heading south down the coast to the chill surf town of Santa Teresa. Our time on the coast will be spent surfing a ton, partying a ton, enjoying life on the beach and experiencing the 'Pura Vida' (good life) culture of the local Ticos! Finishing off the trip in the mountain town of Monteverde in Costa Rica's cloud forests gives you the chance to see a whole other side of the country's beauty. In the high elevation jungles, you'll see gorgeous views and an array of exotic wildlife including sloths, coatis, monkeys and a huge array of Disney-like tropical birds! The amazing sights and sounds of Costa Rica will follow you everywhere on this crazy fun road-trip and with tons of extra activities and stops along the way, there's an infinity of ways to enjoy this adventure tour of a lifetime! WHERE WE GO
Tamarindo: Day 1 - 2
Tamarindo is a unique beach town with lots of surf, sand and sun! It is surrounded by National Parks and has breathtaking mountain views
Day 1 - 2
- Airport pick up from Liberia, and we take a shuttle transfer to Playa Tamarindo to meet up with your group. The following days will involve beach road trips, surf lessons (incl), frisbee, hammock time and pacific sunsets!
Santa Teresa: day 3 - 7
It’s all about the waves in this town! If you love to surf or want to learn, this is the place! The beaches here are miles long and have beautiful tropical forests and underground caves to explore. The surrounding area offers nature reserves, waterfalls, and adventure activities.
Day 3 - 7
- Road trip in our private coaster bus, Chocolito Express (AC, mini cooler and sound system), to the beautiful and tranquilo surf town of Playa Santa Teresa. Spend a day on a short road trip to Montazuma (incl) where you can hike to two waterfalls, take a dip in a natural swimming pool and cliff jumping! Spend the rest of your days in Santa Teresa with optional activities like surfing, fishing, horseback riding, beach parties and infinity pool parties overlooking the pacific coastline!
Monteverde: Day 8 - 9
Monteverde is a huge ecotourism destination and is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Costa Rica. It is surrounded by Cloud Forest and natural reserves. Wander the small town and sample the tasty cuisine, while checking out the local bars and party the Monteverde way.
Day 8 - 9
- Road trip via our Chocolito Express, including a beautiful ferry ride across the Pavon Bay (incl), and into Costa Rica’s cloud forest mountains! Stay at our guesthouse with a view across the valley of Monteverde. Optional activities include zip lining (the longest in Latin America with one zip over 1.5 kms!), waterfall rappelling or a coffee plantation tour!
San Jose / Alajuela: Day 10 - 11

- Get ready for one last road trip aboard our Chocolito Express with a morning option to do the biggest bungee jump in Latin America (over 500m above the cloud forest). Spend the night at Alajuela Backpackers (AC incl) with nearby access to San Jose’s airport for the next day’s departures.

Airport Transfers: This tour starts in Liberia and ends in San Jose, Costa Rica. If you would like us to book airport transfers for you, please let us know after booking the trip and we can make arrangements as needed. We will have more information regarding our airport transfer prices and times in your welcome email and subsequent group updates, so you can also keep an eye out for that once you've locked in your spot with a deposit! Yes there are, depending on your location and payment method.
We have recently joined forces with another (awesome) tour operator who will be helping to run our Central and South America tours. Once you’ve secured your spot on tour with us, you will make all following tour payments directly to them.
If you are Canadian then you have the option to pay via bank transfer or e-transfer, meaning there will be no additional fees. If you are a non-Canadian resident, or wish to pay via Credit Card, then you will be subject to a 3% service fee.
