Bangkok is a magical city steeped in culture; some of the biggest, oldest and most beautiful temples are located here. You can visit one of the world’s biggest reclining statues of Buddha. When you are done taking in the sights, Bangkok has enough bargain shopping opportunities to keep you occupied for a lifetime, and to add to the excitement you can even visit the world famous floating market. In other words, if you like to shop you will be in heaven!

The initial visit to Bangkok will be relatively brief in order to hasten your arrival to the stunning scenery and amazing beaches of Thailand’s tropical islands. Once you arrive, you’ll see why we’re in such a hurry to get you there. You will be able to party day and night, and enjoy all the other things associated with sun, sand and Sangsom whiskey buckets! We will return to Bangkok at the end of your travels so that you’ll be able to buy all the clothing and souvenirs you want, without having to worry about carrying them all over Thailand!

Our last night in Bangkok we will have a special dinner on the tallest tower in Thailand, the international buffet dinner at Bangkok’s 85 story Baiyoke sky Hotel. After enjoying your meal at the Baiyoke “Sky Restaurant” on the 78th floor, you be blown away by the 360 degree view of South East Asia’s bustling hub at nightime from a cool 84 stories on the rotating observation deck.

Ko Phangan is most famous for the Full Moon Party, where 10,000 to 30,000 people come to party on the beach, illuminated by the bright full moon. This, however, isn’t nearly the only thing this stunning island has to offer. You’ll also have opportunities to experience snorkeling, trekking, Thai boxing, waterfalls, jet skiing, and ATV riding, just to name a few. Although Ko Phangan is more known for its beach parties, pool parties and foam parties!

Ko Phangan is so close to paradise for so many travelers that they don’t want to leave; People have been known to go for a week and end up staying for their entire lives! We make your stay on Ko Phangan long enough to fully get caught up in the magic of this amazing, exhilarating and beautiful island.

Our resort is right on the beach where they have the Full Moon Party, so you don’t need to worry about taxi’s or boats when you are ready to go home, you can simply walk home! This is a special perk to traveling with LBW as normally its impossible to get accommodation right on the full moon beach

To the north of Ko Phangan is a little island called Koh Tao. Being far less developed than all the other islands you’ll visit (there is only one main road), Koh Tao is a great place to kick back and relax. Another huge attraction is that this is one of the best and most affordable places in Thailand to go diving. There are over 40 PADI certified scuba diving schools here. The USA is the only country that certifies more PADI divers. You can do all your dive certificates, or if you are already qualified, go diving on some of the most amazing reefs around Thailand.

Ko Nang Yaun is a set of small twin islands just off Koh Tao. They have a band of sand that joins them, and when at high tide, it looks like people standing on the sand are walking on water! The view from the highest point is striking and spectacular! When you get back down, you will dive into the water and snorkel around the amazing coral reefs and see all the tropical fish swim right up to you. Then you can lay back, relax and enjoy a delicious cocktail as the sun comes down over the beach.

One evening we will hike up to one of the view points on the main island and have a BBQ cooked up by the locals and enjoy the amazing sunset!

Surrounded by breathtaking limestone cliffs, and accessible only by boat, Railay is an isolated paradise. You won’t find a car anywhere near this tiny town. Railay doesn’t even have any roads, only walkways through the jungles and resorts. The beach life is second-to-none, but a whole world of activities await the adventurous traveler. You can go cliff jumping just a quick swim from the beach, you can explore caves, and hike up to amazing viewpoints. You will also find hundreds of rock-climbing routes that lead to incredible bird’s-eye views of the area. We hire experienced climbers who make this opportunity safe and easy for anyone from a first-timer to an expert. Once you’ve worked up an appetite conquering the cliffs, a wide variety of restaurants are available along the beach, as well as boats along the shore that sell snacks and sandwiches.

Another day will be spent kayaking through the jungle! You will go through caves, lagoons and see ancient paintings on the cliff walls from thousands of years ago. You will most likely see jumping fish, monkey’s and exotic birds. This is also where one of the famous James Bond movies was filmed!

The Railay night life is the perfect way to wrap up another day in paradise. Between the live entertainment like snake shows, fire shows, and reggae bands, the people of this town always find an excuse to throw a party.

Ko Phi Phi is a boat trip away from the location where the film “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed. You will stay here for four to five days, allowing you enjoy this island paradise up close and personally, relaxing on the very sand where the movie was filmed. Ko Phi Phi has more than one incredible beach though; Monkey beach is another of its best. You can take a long tail boat to get there, which is an exciting ride on its own. However, when you arrive, you will look out onto the beach and see just how this place got its name. There are monkeys everywhere, jumping around, playing, fighting, eating, and doing all the other things that monkeys do! They even swim up to your boat and try and get their hands on your food!

One of the best bars is on this island is called Reggae Bar, where every night they hold Muay Thai fights. When the fights are over, they give everyone in the audience the chance to step in to the arena. You can get in the ring and fight, not just for the honor of winning, but also for free Sangsom buckets!
After watching some Thai boxing the beach parties start to get busy, with tons of different bars along the beach there is always something going on! One or two of the nights the group will all get together at the beginning of the night and buy some buckets and candles and have our own little relaxed party on the candle lit beach. This is usually when fun drinking games are played and funny stories are shared!

After your whirlwind trip through so much excitement, your mind and body will surely be in need of a little relaxation. This is where Kanchanaburi comes in. Here you will come face to face with amazing animals and incredible waterfalls. This is the home of the tiger temple, where you will pet tigers and take once in a lifetime photos with these amazing animals.

Another great feature that Kanchanburi has to offer is the Erawan waterfall. This waterfall is known for being one of the most beautiful in Thailand. With 7 different waterfalls that you can hike up to and swim underneath, you’ll have a blast in the pristine blue water. You can even slide down some of them like a waterslide.

Last but not least you will get to hop on an elephant and ride it through the jungle finishing along a river where you will ride on its neck into the water and give it a bath! This is always one of the biggest highlights of the trip. The elephants dunk you in the water and splash you with its trunk.

“I think we all must have died on the train up here because we are in heaven right now,” We weren’t planning on including Laos as part of the tour, but after being there we decided that we couldn’t go all the way to South East Asia and skip the best place. There is a beautiful river surrounded by stunning mountains, where you float down on inner tubes and take a break at over ten different bars along the way. On top of this, every bar has a swing, zip line, mud pit, slide or cliff jump to entertain you for hours – even if you’re just watching.

There are also many caves very close to town that can be a ton of fun for the adventurous type. One of the days we will take a day trip to a beautiful lagoon and have a traditional Lao BBQ with some locals and then hike up to a huge cave!

Laos is also where we give back to the community and visit some of the poorer village’s around and make donations to either local schools or orphanage’s. This is a very rewarding experience and really opens your eyes to the way different people live. We are really happy to be able to give back to communities, which we visit on our travels! Life Before Work doubles all donations made each trip. In May 2011 we gave 12 million Kip ($1400) to two local schools in the form of clothing, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sandals, school supplies, and toys.

Experience the beauty of the tropical jungle as we trek along a river at an elephants eye view! Elephants are Thailand’s national symbol for both power and peace and are considered sacred.

Elephants were traditionally used in the logging industry and in 1990 logging of the rainforests became illegal in Thailand. Elephants were no longer needed, so in order to take care of these domesticated animals which need up to 500 lbs of food a day they were brought into the tourism industry to take visitors on a rare opportunity to ride an elephant through the jungle!

At the Tiger Temple you will come face to face with these domesticated animals. The temple, Wat Pa Luangta Bua, became a sanctuary for lost and injured animals in 1994. They got their first tiger in 1999 from a villager who found the injured cub and took it to the temple. After taking care of the first cub the villagers often brought orphaned cubs to be taken care of by the monks, this lead to the reputation of the tiger temple which has been featured on Animal Planet. The tigers are washed and handled by Thai monks, international volunteers and local staff.

Visit at least two waterfalls, including one widely regarded to be one of the most beautiful in Thailand. It has 7 different tiers of crystal clear blue water all of which you can swim in, slide down, and jump into. The Erawan waterfall is very popular with the Thai people. It is visited my many students for field trips and has also been featured in some famous Thai movies.

This is always an unforgettable night with 10,000 to 30,000 people partying on Koh Phangan’s “sunrise beach” illuminated by the bright full moon. You won’t find anything quite like this anywhere else in the world. Rated the second best party in the world according to http://matadornights.com/the-top-ten-parties-in-the-world/

Every tour we give back to the community and visit some of the poorer village’s around and make donations to either local schools or orphanage’s. In total we have donated over 40 million Kip ($5000) to different communities in Laos.

Enjoy the picturesque scenery of this beautiful peninsula from a top of a limestone cliff. With over 700 different climbing routes ranging from beginner to expert, it’s enough to keep any climber busy for years. With some routes that reach up to 30 meters with the last 5 meters only able to use two fingers and your toes to climb up to the top, Now that’s a rush!

Kayak through mangroves, caves, and lagoons with lots of wildlife to see including monkeys, birds and jumping fish. This kayaking trip is often a favorite because it is a great group activity that often gets quite competitive when we race back to the kayaking shop from the mangroves.

Often the climax of the whole trip, tubing has become a must do for travelers in South East Asia and there are lots of reasons why! Basically you start the morning off by jumping on a tube and floating down the river. Along the river there are all sorts of different bars where you can fly down zip-lines, swing on rope swings, jump into the Vang Vieng River, and party all the way back down to town! There is no better way to spend a day soaking up the sun than along the river drinking from bar to bar meeting all sorts of like minded travellers!

The Pool Party is a must do in Ko Phangan, with hundreds of party goers that cover the 4 different sections. With a huge dance floor with people dancing on the tables, an area along the beach with a floating dance floor in the ocean, and obviously the massive pool with people going crazy having water fights, flipping into the pool and having chicken fights on people shoulders. This is always a huge night with the LBW crew!

This has become a HUGE hit on the tour! We rent a boat and buy A LOT of Vodka, Rum and Gin and make our famous donkey punch! Which is mixed with a couple different juices sprite and red bull. We take the boat to an assortment of places such as monkey beach (a beach full of monkeys that you can feed) Phi Phi Leh Lagoon (a beautiful lagoon surrounded by 100 foot cliffs with crystal clear blue water) Maya Bay (the famous beach from the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio) and a great snorkelling spot with tons of tropical fish and amazing coral. All this with unlimited donkey punch!

As you plunge beneath the surface you will discover a whole new underwater world. There are a wide variety of tropical fish to see including the black tip reef sharks! Every island we go to in Thailand has great areas to snorkel so if you love to snorkel you will get many opportunities to do so.

Scuba Diving (not included)

Thailand’s many beaches and islands provide the backdrop to a diver’s paradise. Koh Tao island is internationally renowned as one of the best dive spots in Asia. If you so choose, this is the spot to go scuba diving, and the place to get certified as a scuba diver if you don’t already have PADI/SSI certification

Life Before Work has teamed up with a great diving company that offers us group discounts!

The diving costs are approximately $30 per dive or $250 for open water certification* These costs are nearly half the price of getting certified in Canada.

*You must be certified in order to dive.

*When you sign up please inform us if you would like to dive.

Thailand and Laos has a wide variety of different caves to explore. With some wide open caves that go on for miles or some smaller caves that you have to crawl through in order to get through them. There is even a cave that you can climb up and eventually you will get to a big lookout point that looks out to an amazing view of the beach.

Watch in wonder as one of your group members takes the leap of faith off of a cliff as high as 12 meters! Once your feet leave the comfort of solid ground, nothing but pure blue ocean awaits you below! These daredevil favourites can range from 6 to 12 metres in height, varying according to the tide.

Theres nothing more relaxing than sitting on a boat on a hot sunny day listening to music and catching some fish! Fishing is a little bit different in Thailand, who needs a fishing rod when you have a plastic ring with fishing wire wrapped around it! Just drop the hook in the water and wait to feel the bites! When you feel a bite you pull up the fishing line and hope you have a fish on the end of it! We have some trips were we catch tons and tons of fish and feed the whole group. Other times we come back with 1 tiny fish… I guess thats just the way it goes! Either way it makes for a great day relaxing on the boat!

You will get a chance to see many amazing view points while in Thailand. Koh Tao, Ko Phi phi and Railay have multiple view point hikes that will be done on the tour. After a long hike the reward at the end is worth every step!
